Simon was on the executive board of the Thomson Holidays Group before joining tailor-made & business travel management company WEXAS International as MD for 13 years and becoming Chairman of the industry charity Friends of Conservation. He was subsequently MD of luxury villas specialist Simpson Travel before setting up his strategy, marketing and sustainability consultancy Travelwatch Ltd., advising clients such as Air Miles, the Travel Foundation, Qatar Tourism Authority, Advantage Travel, the Yorkshire Dales and Mauritian Property Partnerships.

Along the way he became Visiting Industry Professor of Regent’s University in Regent’s Park, London; a non-executive director of luxury tailormade tour operator, Steppes Travel and a Director of the ITT.  He is also an Executive Director of Syntec, an international telecommunications and managed services provider to contact centres in the travel sector and beyond.

  Ian Dockreay

 

Ian is Founder of the highly successful Business Travel and Travel Technology Shows, together with a number of specialist titles including Buying Business Travel (BBT) and associated events such as the Business Travel Awards.

He brings to Equator wide ranging experience in the travel and media businesses, having worked in the past in senior commercial roles with the likes of Virgin Atlantic, American Express, British Airways, Emirates Airline, OAG and has partnered with the Centaur and Panacea media companies. As Ian says ‘the travel and media businesses are at the leading edge of global innovation and entrepreneurship. I’ve had great fun creating new products and services throughout my career in these most dynamic and ever changing industries. I now look forward to keeping Equator at the forefront of global training and engagement.’

Ian is a Business Leader with the Marketing Society, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors and loves to visit his family in far flung parts of the world, returning home refreshed with new ideas.

Richard has over 20 years experience in marketing, sales and business development. With a keen eye for all things digital he has been responsible for developing and managing online strategies for start ups, brand activations, product launches, concerts and corporate and government events. Most recently managing the online marketing for multiple SME’s for the purpose of lead generation, PR, brand awareness and sales.

A keen traveller he has visited every continent but his true love is Africa having spent his early years living in South Africa  and more recently working in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.

He is also an active member of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers where he is involved in charitable activities and supporting the Crown Woods Academy Communications and Content curriculum.

Graduating from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Business IT, Shoni has over several years experience in e-commerce and digital marketing – most noticeably spending two and a half years within the Education Division at TUI Travel. She is a keen traveller and spent the first half of 2014 backpacking around South East Asia. Away from work, she can be found at the AMEX Stadium supporting her local football team – Brighton & Hove Albion or on her laptop, researching her next city break – with the current preference being New York!

Tony has over 30 years’ experience in the travel industry including 16 years running a successful specialist tour operator, Magic of the Orient, which was sold to the First Choice Group plc in 2005. Tony is a qualified educator with a passion for developing people and systems. He is a great believer in life-long learning and considers e-learning an essential part of that process. Responsible for the development of the system and customer engagement, Tony now affords both strategic thinking and support to the Equator Operations Team.
